The Art of Collaboration

Turning Conflict Into Alignment & Collaboration

This course provides the conversational templates for creating a shared vision and agreements for results. It provides the conversational skills for resolving inevitable differences and conflict making the collaborations sustainable.

This is an advanced course that will further develop skills acquired through taking the suggested prerequisite "Becoming a Resolutionary" course.

  • The course reviews the communication challenges individuals face in creating shared meaning.

  • The purpose is to have you acknowledge that communication is a learned skill like any other technical discipline and that difficulties are understandable given the complexity of the communication process.

  • The key challenge is to understand the nuance of communication and to accept that you can become a masterful communicator.

Pilgrim's Path: Morning

Practice for Seekers

In this deeply personal and soulful book Stewart shares the poems that were his Morning Practice for a period of three years. One poem for every day of the year along with reflective questions. The poems will stir your soul and make you think about things that are present in your world.

Careful reading and reflection will put you deeply in touch with the reality of who you are. It will provide the seeds for making changes in your life that will reward you and those around you with a richer life experience.

For over 35 years, I've been working with people in conflict in all types of situations.

From feuding partners to disgruntled employees, frustrated consumers to divorcing couples, divided teams to struggling salespeople - I've been right there in the thick of it, helping to resolve impossible situations and savings thousands of relationships and millions of dollars. It's been my life's work and personal mission.

Over that 35 years, I've discovered what exactly works and what doesn't work when it comes to resolving and preventing conflict. These same principles, and the psychology behind them, can work for you too. I know because they've worked for me and thousands of people just like you.

My work is based on four

simple premises:

Conflict is expensive

Efficient, effective conflict resolution

Efficient, effective conflict resolution requires a new paradigm of collaboration grounded on the ten principles of a new way of thinking.

Systematic approach

Efficient conflict resolution requires using a new systematic approach; a model that is applied consistently and reinforces new paradigm thinking through routine use

Resolving conflict

Resolving conflict using the model returns you to productive lives and functional relationships.

In this program, "Resolution Works Online", you will get a chance to learn about my model – how to apply it, and most importantly, how to enjoy both professional and personal relationships at a whole new level of success and satisfaction.

With resolve, Stewart

Conflicts we can help you with.

The Art of Collaboration: Conflict Resolution for the 21st Century

Listen to Stewart

Becoming a Resolutionary

"Becoming a Resolutionary" is but one of the many audio clips each lesson cycle contains. This further personalizes and deepens your education catering to our learning styles.

His earliest books, “Getting to Resolution” and “The Book of Agreement,” shaped the field of conflict resolution and collaborative law. Stewart’s model has been utilized by shrinks, mediators, corporate leaders, educators, lawyers, and peaceniks. Stewart has done it all and seen it all. He has consulted with the Harvard Law School, World Bank, Visa, and Nvidia and has even taught at the Esalen Institute - - where we first met. Stewart is a living example of evolutionary consciousness. He cares about people and the planet we inhabit. Currently, Stewart is offering a COVID safe online conflict resolution course via Resolution Works Online Learning Platform.

Stewart jokes that he is all about “Resolutionary” consciousness. He even sees his model as quite simpatico to Buddhist Psychology. Levine believes human beings need to resolve their conflict with the environment and become better planetary citizens. Otherwise, Earth will go on without us. Yes, there is a new book in the works about this subject and much more. In Stewart’s last book, “Being The Best Lawyer You Can Be A Guide to Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Wellness,” he notes how attorneys face alarming mental health, physical, and spiritual crises.

Lawyers have higher depression, anxiety, and addiction rates than other professions. His book on the subject has been adopted by The American Bar Association and many law schools. As if that were not enough, Stewart is a prolific poet. He shares two of his stellar poems with us before he drops the mic and exits the podcast studio. I call him my Amanda Gorman. Client Testimonials

“We certainly enjoyed your positive presentation of a topic most folks find very difficult to discuss? conflict?

Your message of open communication and recognizing how past experiences play a part in our individual attitudes toward resolving conflict really hit home to me. From the comments I received during break and after lunch, I believe you delivered timely message to the rest of my staff as well.

Your uplifting closing remarks set the tone for a productive and effective afternoon training session for everyone. Thank you ever so much.”

Barbara Cassens

Director, San Francisco District FDA, Pacific Region

“Stewart Levine has developed a model for conflict resolution that could revolutionize the manner in which we speak, communicate, and settle our disagreements.

Mr. Levine is an attorney who has witnessed first hand the litigious system. He is suggesting that for the majority of issues that confront us in our daily lives there is an alternative, a less costly, and a more efficient methodology in which to achieve our goals.

As someone who has spent the better part of the past twenty years attempting to assist people in settling conflicts, I can attest to the value of Mr. Levine’s methodology.”

Dan Corsello

Director, NAPA Country Health & Human Services

“Everybody was very pleased with the program and the way it was presented. We as a team saw an application of a theory that applied to our real world.

Conflict resolution was a dear subject to all not only in our work place but also in our real personal lives. Having a dear subject makes it more attractive to bond and make people connect easier and throughout the meeting.

People were very comfortable with you as a person, your soft mannerism and your being acceptable to them was an easy sell.”

Varoujan Altebarmakian, MD,

Physician-in-Chief, Kaiser Fresno Medical Center

“You resolve issues that stifle productivity and create partnership where everyone thought it was impossible. Gail Johnson, Sierra Adoption Services I am using your model in many business situations for teaming, managing client relationships and negotiating large sales and contracts.”

TG Struttman

Caterpillar Inc,OC

“The subject matter of your presentation and the thought-provoking interaction required during your sessions will be resources used by attendees throughout their careers.”

KRobert Rigsby

Esq; Corporate Counsel, District of Columbia

“Stewart, it has been invaluable to have worked with you and learned the agreement process. It is a great foundation for both business and personal relationships.

It guide you to a clear vision of where you are going and helps answer the question of whether, and how far you can trust the people you want to work with. Expressing fears and concerns before moving forward is especially useful.

Resolving concerns provides a peaceful place to start from that is very empowering. The process will be a powerful tool to create from for the rest of my life. I am very grateful.”

Rebecca Hubbell

“Getting to Resolution is an important book for the hectic time we live in. It is a reminder that civilization rests on our ability to communicate with each other, and resolve differences in a peaceful way. This is true for individuals, organizations, and nations. We cannot afford to file lawsuits or start wars when good communication will get us to the other side of our differences.”

Lord Graham of Edmonton Opposition Chief Whip

House of Lords, London

“The techniques presented in your workshops helped me to address the process of recovering from damaged agreements and draining disputes. I used your principles the very next day.”

Ted T. Marsh

President, Two Win Communications

“Thank you for your help. I appreciate being able to handle this matter without investing any more time, effort, and money than was necessary..”

Karl Bareither

Pres., Family Business Consultants

“Most of us have had to live with a really nasty, difficult interpersonal relationship, whether the other person was our boss, a colleague, or significant other or offspring. If you are willing to invest the effort to understand the model of conflict and the model of resolution articulated by Levine, then you’ll be allowing yourself to experience the relief and satisfaction of ‘win-win’ relationships throughout your life.”

Michael Lanier

Former CIO, Charles Schwab and DHL

“Thanks so much for the work you did with our group at IVC where we were able to articulate the many issues at play as we plan our future. I believe that your resolutionary process steps are clear, simple and powerful. That process combined with your excellent facilitation was just exactly what we needed to help launch our transformation process!”

Nanda Schorske

“A visionary is someone who thinks. A Resolutionary is someone that thinks and implements a plan to make positive change. The world can only be changed and improved when people take the time and energy to make things happen. You are making a difference.”

Mitch Markota

“You were able to lead a roomful of legal know-it-alls to a foolproof technique for avoiding the unnecessary communication problems that get in the way of achieving mutually satisfying resolutions of conflict. In just a few hours, you showed us how to reacquire the lost art of LISTENING. I am getting along better at the office, at home, and at the courthouse.”

F. Ford Lokeresq.,

Maryland State DRI Representative

“It’s always a treat to watch, listen, and learn from a master. There is a definite buzz for More! from our participants.”

Univ. of San Francisco

Office of Personel Services

“In the workforce I found that the agreement model transcends all lines of management and can be incorporated in relationships with direct reports, colleagues, and senior management.

I have seen my direct reports become empowered as they are enabled to have individual input and share in the credit of the results; my management benefits because the entire team is in agreement and harmony as to how to achieve the end results.

Now, when original agreements are broken or simply cannot be met, we have learned to use this tool to implement new or revised agreements. This has allowed what could have been negative situations to become positive and productive experiences.”

Jan Gould
