Stewart Levine is one of the top conflict resolution experts of our time. He lives as a resolutionary and teaches how to approach conflict holistically from the inside out, rather than from outside in. Stewart's book, Getting to Resolution: Turning Conflict into Collaboration is one of my go to references when I need a reminder of what it takes to live as a resolutionary.
This online program is designed to help you resolve conflicts and develop agreements for results. The total costs of conflict from broken, implicit, or incomplete agreements are much higher than you think. The benefits of a culture of resolution and agreement are enormous.
Creating Shared Vision & Sustainable Partnership Improving Productivity
This course provides the conversational templates for creating a shared vision and agreements for results. It provides the conversational skills for resolving inevitable differences and conflict making the collaborations sustainable.
This is an advanced course that will further develop skills acquired through taking the suggested prerequisite "Becoming a Resolutionary" course.
The course reviews the communication challenges individuals face in creating shared meaning. The purpose is to have you acknowledge that communication is a learned skill like any other technical discipline and that difficulties are understandable given the complexity of the communication process. The key challenge is to understand the nuance of communication and to accept that you can become a masterful communicator.
I am the author of Getting to Resolution, The Book of Agreement and Collaboration 2.0, three books about improving personal and organizational relationships and productivity by turning conflict into collaboration, forming agreements for results, and creating the future that you consciously intend.

By contrasting the win/lose with a win/win paradigm Levine focuses on a number one problem-namely, how we solve problems. The mind-set, skill set, and the content are beautifully interwoven...
For over 35 years, I've been working with people in conflict in all types of situations. From feuding partners to disgruntled employees, frustrated consumers to divorcing couples, divided teams to struggling salespeople - I've been right there in the thick of it, helping to resolve impossible situations and savings thousands of relationships and millions of dollars. It's been my life's work and personal mission.
Over that 35 years, I've discovered what exactly works and what doesn't work when it comes to resolving and preventing conflict.
These same principles, and the psychology behind them, can work for you too. I know because they've worked for me and thousands of people just like you.
Efficient, effective conflict resolution requires a new paradigm of collaboration grounded on the ten principles of a new way of thinking.
Efficient conflict resolution requires using a new systematic approach; a model that is applied consistently and reinforces new paradigm thinking through routine use.
Resolving conflict using the model returns you to productive lives and functional relationships.
In this program, "Resolution Works Online", you will get a chance to learn about my model – how to apply it, and most importantly, how to enjoy both professional and personal relationships at a whole new level of success and satisfaction.
Conflict is a killer. It can trash our hopes, dreams, and expectations for the future. We pay the price in rage, anxiety, and uncertainty about the future.
We suffer stress-related illnesses and diseases like hypertension, insomnia, obesity, and lost relationships. Whether it's a marriage, friendship, or family conflict, this program will get you back on track.
It may not happen in a day or a week, but the program will provide the tools and mindset that will enable you to get beyond what was broken and, in the short run, back to a place of functionality. In the long run, you will have the tools essential to building long-term collaborations, even in the most tricky and challenging circumstances.
Most people don't realize the real costs associated with conflict if you are part of a business organization or a non-profit; paying attention to the use of resources is essential.
It's common knowledge that the most important resource of any organization is the people who keep it running. To optimize the use of that resource, human alignment is essential.
When individuals, teams, or departments are stuck in internal or external conflict, they are the opposite of being in alignment, the source of high performance.
Whether you are a leader, manager, or resource person, these programs will give you the awareness, tools, and skills needed to prevent much of the costly conflict that is typical in organizations. If you're in a place of a painful breakdown, you will get what you need to get back to a place of resolution, alignment, and high performance.
In the short run, you will be able to get beyond the conflict. In the long run, you will be able to build the organizational culture essential for the results you want.
Any newspaper will reveal the social, racial, and political unrest in both the US and all over the world.
Differences abound and have been the cause of fractured families, loss of friends, and a breakdown of the social fabric holding communities together.
It’s much easier to demonize others, make them wrong, and blame them for the social ills that interrupt the fabric of the lives we would like to have. But unfortunately, broadcast and social media can make the polarization worse.
This program will not make the differences go away. I can’t promise Kumbaya, but I can provide tools, skills, and a mindset that will enable you to engage in conversations curiously so you can understand, agree to disagree, and preserve relationships and friendships that are important.
The Art of Collaboration: Conflict Resolution for the 21st Century
Dr. Jim Bramson interviews the self-described “Resolutionary” Stewart Levine, Esq. Stewart Levine is an attorney, poet, artist, concerned citizen, and thought leader in the field of conflict resolution. His earliest books, “Getting to Resolution” and “The Book of Agreement,” shaped the field of conflict resolution and collaborative law. Stewart’s model has been utilized by shrinks, mediators, corporate leaders, educators, lawyers, and peaceniks. Stewart has done it all and seen it all. He has consulted with the Harvard Law School, World Bank, Visa, and Nvidia and has even taught at the Esalen Institute - - where we first met. Stewart is a living example of evolutionary consciousness. He cares about people and the planet we inhabit. Currently, Stewart is offering a COVID safe online conflict resolution course via Resolution Works Online Learning Platform.
Stewart jokes that he is all about “Resolutionary” consciousness. He even sees his model as quite simpatico to Buddhist Psychology. Levine believes human beings need to resolve their conflict with the environment and become better planetary citizens. Otherwise, Earth will go on without us. Yes, there is a new book in the works about this subject and much more. In Stewart’s last book, “Being The Best Lawyer You Can Be A Guide to Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Wellness,” he notes how attorneys face alarming mental health, physical, and spiritual crises. Lawyers have higher depression, anxiety, and addiction rates than other professions. His book on the subject has been adopted by The American Bar Association and many law schools. As if that were not enough, Stewart is a prolific poet. He shares two of his stellar poems with us before he drops the mic and exits the podcast studio. I call him my Amanda Gorman.
